Lebbeck Wood is known by many names including Indian Siris, East Indian Walnut, Broome Raintree, Lebbeck or Lebbek, Shak Shak, Silver Raintree, Frywood, Koko or Kokko, and Woman's Tongue Tree, amongst others. The name Frywood comes from the sound the seeds make when rattling in the seed pods, which can sound like frying food, and several other common names also play off the noise made by the seed pods such as Shak Shak and various Raintree name variants.
