I play a Celtic harp and desired something on my lap to compose melodies. This is great! The first thing I did was rubbed the lyre body with frankincense oil, I knew the wood was thirsty. Then I broke 2 strings (I am accustomed to monofilament) and ordered more steel strings. I decided to do away with the little brass fittings and simply use the loop on the string to pull the string through, over the wood. It seems to work perfectly, and after a few days stays in better tune than expected for a new string instrument. I keyed it to D minor but can easily, very slightly and gently, make adjustments for other scales. I am actually enjoying the rich metal sound over my larger harp. It will be lovely in hospice settings for a patient to hold, even on their abdomen (nontraditional). Many people say they have always wanted to play a harp and it is lovely to give them at least a strum! Some lyres are longer, this will be great for teaching children and others the basics, depends how you want to hold it, cradled in your arm or upright to play chords on one side. The case is perfect with a perfectly sized pocket for strings. Many thanks!!!
It came very quickly. Packing is just a bomb. Everything is quality - checked the sound with tuner, every tone is on a place. Very impressed
